About

About the Word to PDF

Converts a Word document (.docx) into a clean, paginated PDF — headings, bold and italic text, lists, tables and images included — right in your browser.

Job seekers use it to send a resume as a PDF so formatting can't shift on the recipient's computer, while businesses use it to turn a Word contract or proposal into a PDF before sending it out for signature. It's one of many free PDF tools on Toolapt, and like every tool here, it's free to use with no sign-up and no limit on how many times you run it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to common questions about the Word to PDF.

What does Word to PDF do?

It converts a Word document (.docx) into a paginated PDF, keeping its headings, text formatting, lists, tables and images.

Is Word to PDF free to use?

Yes. It's free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you convert.

Is my file safe when I use this tool?

Yes. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so your document never leaves your device — nothing is uploaded, stored or seen by anyone.

Will the PDF look exactly like the Word document?

It keeps the document's content and structure — headings, paragraphs, bold and italic text, lists, tables and images — laid out cleanly on standard pages. It doesn't copy Word's exact page layout, so headers and footers, text boxes, columns, custom margins and page breaks may come out differently. For a pixel-perfect copy, use File → Save As → PDF in Word itself.

Does it work with .doc files?

Only modern .docx files are supported. To convert an older .doc file, open it in Word (or a free editor such as LibreOffice) and save it as .docx first.

Can I select and search the text in the PDF?

Yes. Each page is drawn as an image with the document's text placed invisibly on top, so you can search, select and copy it in any PDF viewer.

Does Word to PDF have any limitations?

Fonts that aren't installed on your device are replaced with similar ones, and very long documents take longer to lay out. Charts, SmartArt and embedded objects other than pictures are left out.
