Privacy Policy

Toolapt is built so that, for almost every tool, what you type, paste or upload never has to leave your device. This page explains exactly what that means, and covers the small number of exceptions.

Last updated: October 19, 2026

Overview

Toolapt does not require an account, does not run analytics or tracking scripts, and does not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Most tools run entirely as JavaScript in your browser — the text, files or numbers you work with are processed on your own device and are never transmitted to our servers. The sections below cover the specific, limited exceptions to that, along with cookies, advertising, and how to reach us with questions.

No accounts, no forms

There is no sign-up, login, or user profile anywhere on Toolapt, and no page collects your name, email address, or any other personal information as a condition of using a tool. The only place an email address is ever involved is if you choose to send one to us yourself, via the Contact page.

What's stored in your browser

A couple of small conveniences are saved using your browser's local storage, which stays on your device and is never sent to us:

  • Your light/dark theme preference.
  • Tools you've marked as a favorite, and (on some tools) recently used settings.

You can clear this at any time through your browser's settings (clearing site data for Toolapt), and doing so won't affect anything else about how the site works.

Your files stay on your device

Every file tool on Toolapt — including converting between PDF and Office formats (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), OCR, compressing, protecting and unlocking PDFs, and converting HEIC or TIFF images — runs inside your browser. When you "upload" a file to one of these tools, it is only opened by the page on your own device; it is never sent to our servers, and neither are any passwords you type into the PDF tools.

Some tools download a code library or language data (for example, the OCR engine) from this site the first time you use them. Only that code is fetched — nothing you provide is sent along with it. The only tools that send anything to our server are the URL shortener (which has to store your link) and the Sitemap Generator's optional website scan, and both say so on their own page.

Server logs

Like virtually any website, the web server that hosts Toolapt automatically records standard technical information for every request — such as IP address, browser/user agent, the page requested, and the time of the request. This is ordinary hosting-level logging used for security (like spotting abuse) and diagnosing problems, not for building a profile of individual visitors, and it is not linked to anything you type into a tool.

Cookies & advertising

Toolapt itself does not set tracking or advertising cookies. Toolapt is supported by advertising, and pages may display ads served by third-party advertising networks (such as Google AdSense). Those networks may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies rather than this one.

You can review and adjust how Google personalizes ads at Google Ads Settings, and more generally at aboutads.info. Most browsers also let you block or clear cookies entirely in their settings.

Children's privacy

Toolapt is not directed at children under 13, and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone in that age group. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us (for example, in an email), contact us and it will be removed.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated occasionally to reflect changes to the site — for example, if a new tool needs server-side processing. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent change. Continuing to use Toolapt after an update means you accept the revised policy.
