About Data Tools

Toolapt's 29 free online data tools help you format, validate and convert the data you work with every day. Pretty-print or minify JSON with the JSON Formatter, find the exact error with the JSON Validator, compare two JSON documents, and convert between CSV, JSON, YAML and Excel. Encode and decode Base64, Base32, URLs and HTML entities, generate SHA-256 checksums of text or whole files, format and validate XML, pull values out of JSON with a path, break URLs and query strings into their parts, compare two lists and work out IP subnet ranges. There are also validators for IBANs, credit card checksums, ISBNs and UUIDs. Paste your data and the result appears instantly — nothing to install, no account and no usage limit.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the questions people ask most.

How do I format or beautify JSON online?

Paste your JSON into the JSON Formatter. It pretty-prints it with clean indentation, or minifies it onto one line, and can also sort keys alphabetically.

How can I check if my JSON is valid?

Use the JSON Validator. It tells you straight away whether the JSON parses, and if it doesn't, it shows the exact position of the error so you can fix it.

How do I convert CSV to JSON?

Open the CSV and JSON Converter and paste your CSV. Each row becomes a JSON record, and it works the other way too — JSON records back into CSV. To get an Excel file instead, use the CSV/JSON to Excel Converter.

How do I encode or decode Base64?

Use the Base64 Encoder to turn text into Base64 (full Unicode is supported, with an optional URL-safe alphabet), and the Base64 Decoder to turn it back into readable text, even when padding is missing.

How do I compare two JSON files?

Paste both documents into the JSON Diff Checker. It compares them structurally, not line by line, and lists exactly which keys and values were added, removed or changed.

Which hash algorithms does the Hash Generator support?

It creates SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384 and SHA-512 checksums of any text. To hash a whole file instead, use the File Hash Calculator, which computes SHA-256, SHA-384 or SHA-512 checksums without uploading the file.

Are these data tools free? Do I need to sign up?

All 29 data tools are completely free, with no account and no limit on how often you use them or how much data you paste. They work in any modern browser on phone, tablet and desktop.

Is it safe to paste my data or card numbers here?

Yes — every data tool processes what you paste in your own browser and nothing is uploaded to Toolapt. The IBAN Validator, Credit Card Validator and Password Strength Checker only check the value locally; none of them send it anywhere.
