About

About the cURL Command Builder

Builds a ready-to-run cURL command from an HTTP method, URL, headers and request body, with each piece correctly shell-quoted.

Developers use it to quickly assemble a test request for an API endpoint without recalling cURL's exact flag syntax, and API integrators use it to turn a set of headers and a JSON body from documentation into a runnable command. It's one of many free developer tools on Toolapt, and like every tool here, it's free to use with no sign-up and no limit on how many times you run it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to common questions about the cURL Command Builder.

What does the cURL Command Builder do?

It builds a ready-to-run cURL command from a method, URL, headers and body that you fill in.

Is the cURL Command Builder free to use?

Yes. It's free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it.

Is my data safe when I use this tool?

Yes. The command is assembled entirely on your own device — nothing you enter is sent to a server.

How do I add multiple headers?

Enter one header per line in the Headers box, in the form Name: value, such as Authorization: Bearer TOKEN.

What does the -k flag do?

It tells cURL to skip TLS certificate verification, which is sometimes needed for local development servers with self-signed certificates — it should generally be avoided against production servers.

Why doesn't the body show up for a GET request?

GET and HEAD requests conventionally don't carry a request body, so the tool omits the --data-raw flag for those two methods even if you typed something in the Body field.

How are special characters in my values handled?

Every value — the URL, each header, and the body — is wrapped in single quotes with proper escaping, so characters like spaces, quotes and $ don't break the resulting shell command.

Can I use this tool on my phone?

Yes. The page is fully responsive and works on mobile, tablet and desktop browsers alike.
